Filipa Cruz is an Artist, Professor, and Researcher who divides her time between France and Portugal: Her artistic practice combines installation, sculpture, and literature with a timeless and fleeting image. Since 2012, she has had solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, France, Italy, and Denmark and participated in numerous international conferences as a Speaker and Proofreader.

Filipa Cruz has spent the last ten years working in Artistic Practice and Artistic Research, Sculpture, Poetry, Culture, and European Higher Education.

Education
Filipa holds a Doctorate in Artistic Practice (FBAUP), a Master in Fine Arts Approved with Distinction (École Nationale Supérieure de Beaux-Arts de Paris ENSBA), a Post-graduation in Aesthetics (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne); a Higher Degree in Fine Arts-Sculpture (FBAUP); and a Higher Degree in Fine Arts-Multimedia (ENSBA). She has been working on her second Ph.D. research in Insular Literature and Cultures at the University of the Azores since 2020, collaborating with the Università di Corsica Pasquale Paoli in Corsica.

Work Experience

Filipa Cruz is the Coordinator of the Transdisciplinary New Media department, as well as an Adjunct Faculty at Paris College of Art (PCA, Paris), Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP, Porto), and an Integrated Researcher at the Research Institute of Art, Design and Society (i2ADS, Porto). She is the current Chief Editor of HUB – Journal of Research in Art, Design, and Society (https://i2ads.up.pt/hub/). Since 2018, she has supervised over a dozen academic theses ranging from MFA to Ph.D.
