Emerson and Paris College of Art celebrate 5 years of the Global BFA in Film Art program
On Thursday, August 15 2024, faculty and administrators from Emerson College and Paris College of Art (PCA) gathered with current Global BFA students at the Emerson Visitors Center to unveil a commemorative plaque celebrating the 5 year anniversary of this innovative and international program.
The Global BFA program, which began in the summer of 2019, offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that blends film and media production, art and film history, media criticism, French language and culture, and liberal arts. The program spans three and a half years, with coursework conducted at Emerson, PCA, and Emerson’s Kasteel Well campus in the Netherlands, culminating in a BFA degree from both Emerson and PCA.
Notable attendees included Emerson College President Jay Bernhardt, Provost Alexandra Socarides, School of the Arts Dean Kate Eichhorn, and Global BFA Co-Director Professor Dan Gaucher. Paris College of Art was represented by Provost Michael Meere and Global BFA Co-Director and Film Department Chair Harald Hutter.
