Armstrong studied at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and received his BFA, in Film and Video Production in 2005. After studying film and video he continued his education with a Masters Degree in Studio Art at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and graduated in 2009.
At University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle in 2012, 2015-2017, Armstrong taught History of British Art, History of British Art 2, Topics in Contemporary Art, Read and Talk, Communication in All its States and Active Listening.
After receiving his Masters Degree he became a substitute teacher in Chicago Public Schools from 2009 to 2011. In 2013 to 2014 Armstrong became an Assistant Stage Manager (CDD) at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique. From 2013 to present day he is an English Tutor at the Institut Polytechnique des sciences avancées.
