Education:

Bachelors of fine arts (B.F.A.) in fine arts from the College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA; certificate in drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), Chicago, Illinois, USA; masters of fine arts (M.F.A.) in drawing with a sub-concentration in printmaking, Paris College of Art, Paris, France. Additional training in printmaking and traditional bookbinding through the consortium program at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

Professional Experience:

Laura Fisher currently teaches drawing as part of the Foundations department at Paris College of Art, and she has previously taught drawing to undergraduate students at the American University of Paris in Paris, France, and to high schoolers in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. As a professional artist, she has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions throughout Europe and North America, and has completed artist’s residencies in France, the U.S., and the U.K. In addition to her teaching work and professional artistic pursuits, Laura previously owned a wedding photography business, mentored female entrepreneurs as the president of the Chicago chapter of the Rising Tide Society, and held the distinction of being the three-time reigning champ of the Cincinnati Scrabble Club. When she’s not drawing, taking photos, or making artist’s books, she can probably be found urban gardening or eating burritos.
