MA/MFA Photography Students Explore Venice for Artistic Exchange and Portfolio Review

Last week, our MA/MFA Photography & Image-Making students had the opportunity to embark on a trip to Venice with Chair of Photography Steve Bisson. It was a trip filled with artistic exchange and cultural exploration.
As part of the visit, students took part in portfolio reviews with industry professionals Elena Volpato and Suzanne Van der Borg, receiving valuable feedback and insights into their developing practice. We’re incredibly grateful for their time and thoughtful engagement.
The group also participated in an enriching conversation with Elena Casadoro from CasadoroFungher, diving into the topic of art communication. They also had an insightful tour at the Venice Art Factory—offering students a unique behind-the-scenes look at Venice’s vibrant art scene.
The trip concluded with a visit to the iconic Peggy Guggenheim Collection, followed by some well-deserved time to wander, reflect, and take in the beauty of the city itself.
