Threads of time. Textiles and embroidery from Peru.
Lecture on embroidered textiles from peruvians (1912 – 1980) from the Andrea Aranow collection, held in the Textile Hive archive (USA). A true immersion in the art of embroidery from the Junín region of Peru. At the crossroads of aesthetics, memory and ritual, these textile works tell a story where traditions, beliefs and identities are intertwined through a rich and lively artistic practice.
Susana Navarro Hospinal is an peruvian art historian, researcher and independent curator specializing in modern Peruvian textile art and embroidery. She works in collaboration with the Textile Hive collection as a specialist and researcher.
