What is a better way to celebrate the first day of summer, also being the longest day of the year, than gathering in the streets to enjoy good music with people you like?
Inaugurated in 1982 by the French Ministry of Culture, Fête de la Musique has become a much-loved tradition across the country. Each 21st of June, you’ll find live bands, singers, amateur musicians, drummers, and DJ’s, expressing themselves through music, making Paris one big party!
We selected some interesting events for you this year and created a Google Map. Every pin is clickable and indicates both when the music starts, where the event is, and the genre. Enjoy Fête de la Musique 2019!
You should also go check out the fashionable locations — Jardin des Tuileries, Institut du Monde Arabe, Petit Palais, Jardin du Luxembourg, Cité de la Musique, Funiculaire de Montmartre, and of course the banks of the river Seine. Exceptionally for one night only, the city offers discounted public transport and some metro lines run all night long!
Only 6 metro lines operate all night long: lines 1, 2, 4, 6, 9 and 14.
RER lines A, B, C, D, H, J, L, N and P will run all night in the Paris-suburbs direction with the exception of lines A and B, which will run in both directions. Noctilien buses will run more often.
