Join us for a new Photo Lunch Talk on April 27, 2021 to meet with Ragna Arndt-Maric, a photographer whose work focuses on individuals and their interpersonal relationships in context with social and philosophical issues.

Ragna Arndt-Maric worked as a physician before she started studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences Europe in Hamburg, Germany in 2016. In 2020, she completed her studies with a Bachelor in Arts.

Because of her medical experience, individuals and their interpersonal relationships in context with social and philosophical issues are at the core of her work. Representation of the invisible, experimentation with the limits of the medium of photography and the failure of the artistic process play an important role for her.

She has been able to show her work at various exhibitions such as the Triennial of Photography Hamburg and the European Month of Photography (EMOP) Berlin in 2018.

In 2019, she was selected for an artist residency directed by Magnum photographer Antoine d’Agata in Arles, France. The same year, her series As the Blackbird died twice was shortlisted by the Felix Schoeller Photo Award in the category “Best work by an emerging photographer.”

For her thesis fall, rising, she received the Alma del Banco Prize and was among the three winners of the Blurring the Lines contest in 2020.

Also in 2020, she applied to a Master´s degree in Photography at the FH Bielefeld, Germany.

You can see more of her work on her website.
