We can help you make your dreams come true
Paris College of Art provides scholarships, the College Assistance Program (CAP), and graduate teaching opportunities (for MFA candidates) to eligible students with financial need and academic merit to help defray a portion of the cost of tuition.
To help cover the rest of the tuition fee, we provide assistance to students in navigating how to obtain financial aid from other sources like Sallie Mae for US citizens, CSN for Swedish citizens, as well as other countries’ governmental loan and scholarship programs.
Approximately 30% of PCA students receive financial assistance from the school and award packages on average cover 30-50% of tuition. Applying for assistance is not difficult but does take time to fill out the forms correctly and to provide us with documentation of your financial situation.
Once a student has submitted an application for admission to Paris College of Art, they will gain access to the financial assistance application.
Students are strongly encouraged to apply for both admission and financial assistance by the Early Decision or Regular Admission deadlines (please refer to the Admissions section of your program for specific dates).
PCA Financial Assistance
PCA Awards are made on the basis of three criteria: the student’s financial need, merit, and assessed commitment to their program of study at PCA.
Awards are made after a student has been admitted to the school and once their application for Financial Assistance is complete and ready for review. While the PCA Financial Assistance Committee makes every effort to help you and your family meet the costs of attending PCA, our maximum award packages only cover a portion of tuition and do not cover living expenses.
Please note, we have a fixed amount of Financial Assistance available each year, so the earlier the application is submitted and processed, the greater the likelihood of your receiving a generous financial assistance package. Financial assistance applications submitted after May 1 will still be reviewed; however, funding may be limited at that time.
To apply for financial assistance, you must complete our Financial Assistance Application Form. You may submit this application as soon as you have submitted your application for admission.
Awards are made for the year of entry to the school and the student will continue to receive the same award each year for the full length of their program as long as:
- they remain in good academic standing (a semester GPA of at least 2.5 with a full-time load of at least 12 credits, including all degree requirements).
- they complete their required College Assistance Program hours*
- their financial circumstance still warrants support, and
- they adhere to the standards of behavior outlined in the student handbook.
Students who do not meet these standards may have their awards modified or cancelled.
Please note Online Foundation & EU Graduate students are not eligible for Financial Assistance.
Questions about Financing your Education?
Types of Assistance
Scholarships
Eligibility: Undergraduate, Certificate, Study Abroad, and International (Non-EU) Graduate Students.
Scholarships are awarded to students who show financial need and academic and artistic merit. These scholarships defray a portion of tuition.
College Assistance Program (CAP)
Eligibility: Undergraduate, Certificate, Study Abroad, and International (Non-EU) Graduate Students.
Students who are awarded the College Assistance Program are required to complete an assigned number of hours each semester, on campus, assisting an academic or administrative department. The hours that they complete reduce their following semester’s tuition due; if the student wishes, a portion of the award can be received as a monthly stipend. Participation in the College Assistance Program is mandatory as it has a direct affect on financial need assessment. Should a student fail to complete all of the assigned hours of their CAP, their total financial assistance package will be lowered upon annual renewal.
Graduate Teaching Opportunities
Eligibility: Students in the MFA program who have the necessary qualifications regardless of nationality.
Student teaching positions at the undergraduate level are available during the second year of the degree providing an opportunity to develop your teaching resume.
MFA students who have completed the Educational Principles course, have the necessary qualifications, legal status, and a grade point average (GPA) above 3.3 may be awarded a teaching position.
Interested students should contact their Department Chair at the end of their second semester in the program for further information about available opportunities in the following academic year, and validate with Human Resources and the Provost before the College Council that the course is offered the following year or that a new course should be submitted for consideration.
Please note that students on a Student Visa are allowed to work 60% of the legal annual time for a full–time job in France, which is a maximum of 964 hours per year. This duration starts from the validation of your VISA by OFII. Students being awarded assistantships sign a Short–Term Contract (called “Contrat à Durée Déterminée d’Usage”) with the Human Resources Office. A copy of your VISA (front & back) is required.
Travel Grant
Eligibility: Full-time Undergraduate and Graduate Students.
Students who enroll in a full-time degree program may be eligible for PCA’s Travel Grant, which helps offset the cost of visiting campus.
The grant provides a reduction of up to €1,000 toward your first-semester tuition to help cover travel expenses. Students become eligible for the grant once they submit their enrollment deposit and matriculate, and eligibility may be established in one of the following ways:
1. Post-Acceptance Campus Visit
Students who are admitted to a full-time degree program and visit campus in-person after acceptance and before submitting their enrollment deposit will become eligible for the travel grant once they deposit and matriculate.
2. In-Person Open House Attendance
Students who attend an in-person Open House and later matriculate into a full-time degree program are also eligible for the travel grant, whether or not they had submitted an application at the time of the event.
To receive the grant, students must submit receipts documenting their travel expenses. Please keep all travel documentation from your trip. The travel grant is issued after the start of the semester (in week 5 or later) once the tuition refund period is over.
Other Sources of Aid
Canada
Ontario – Ontario Student Assistancee Program (OSAP)
Students from Ontario who have been accepted to Paris College of Art are eligible for funding through the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), a financial aid program that can help you pay for college or university. OSAP offers funding through: grants (money you don’t have to pay back) or a student loan (money you need to repay once you’re done school).
OSAP is open to Ontario residents of any age who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons.
The amount of money you can get depends on your: education expenses, course load, program hours and personal financial situation – based on you and your family’s income, family size, dependants and other factors. An aid estimator is provided at this link.
USA
Sallie Mae Student Loans
Students who are accepted to PCA and who are US citizens can apply for the Sallie Mae Student Loans to help them pay tuition and/or living expenses. Students are able to apply for annual loans that equal our annual published cost of tuition and living expenses. However, in the interest of the future financial stability of our students, we strongly advise students and their families read carefully about the different repayment options before determining the amount they wish to request.
To find out more information about the Sallie Mae Student Loans, please consult their website or give them a call at 855-429-9759. Please note that our institution’s code is: 609183-00.
VA Benefits
VA educational benefits are designed to make college and higher education available and affordable to student veterans or dependents. Educational Benefits vary on the veteran status and their time in the service. If you have applicable benefits, you can use these to support your education at PCA.
Several of PCA’s programs have already been approved for G.I. Bill Benefits. These include:
- BFA in Photography
- MA in Fashion Film, & Photography
- MA/MFA in Photography & Image-making
If the program you are interested in is not listed above, please, let us know when you apply to PCA so that we can start the process to get it approved for Veterans Affairs benefits.
Doing this will let us ensure that you can use your benefits for the program you wish to attend.
All Countries
CAF/French Housing Assistance
EU National students in France with financial need are eligible to receive financial support from the French government to offset housing costs. This aid is administered by the Caisse d’Allocations Familliales (Family Allowances Fund), commonly referred to as the CAF. Students may apply for this aid after they have secured housing. The amount of support depends on the students need and the type of housing. Please note that an application for CAF does not guarantee that you will receive aid.

Create a Budget
Create a budget for the duration of your studies
Preparing a well-thought-out budget is essential to avoid financial difficulties and make the most of your time at PCA. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you plan your finances effectively:
Step 1: Estimate Your Tuition Fees
Undergraduate, Certificate, Study Abroad at PCA and Master’s tuition for international (Non-EU) students: 16,000 € per semester (2025-2026)
Master’s tuition for EU students: 16,000 € per year (2025-2026)
Step 2: Calculate Living Costs
Living expenses in Paris are high compared to other cities. Account for the following average costs per semester:
- Housing: 5,900 €
Be prepared for higher rents, depending on the location and type of housing.
Factor in additional costs like a one-month deposit and first month’s rent when signing a lease.
- Personal / Meals 3,100 €
- Books / Art Supplies 350 – 800 €*
- Local transportation 190 €
* Varies by department
Total Estimated Living Costs per Semester: 8,900 – 9,350 €
Step 3: Include Travel Expenses
If you live far from France, add the cost of traveling to and from Paris, including potential trips home during holidays and school breaks.
Step 4: Note Potential Income
If you plan to work during your studies, understand that finding a job may take time. Don’t rely on immediate income to cover essential expenses.
Step 5: Factor in Emergencies and Unexpected Costs
Set aside funds for unforeseen expenses, such as medical emergencies, additional course materials, or unexpected repairs.
Step 6: Create a Budget
Divide your budget into categories such as tuition, rent, food, transportation, and leisure.
Use tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or budgeting apps to track your spending.
Begin saving early and create a realistic budget for your expenses to ensure financial stability throughout your studies. With a clear financial plan in place, you can focus on your academic and personal growth while at PCA.
Scholarships, Grants & Competitions
Please note that these opportunities are posted as they become available to our Student Success team. It is the student’s responsibility to verify their eligibility and make note of deadlines.
