Become a Paris College of Art Student
Choosing the right school requires getting to know a school as well as you can before and during the application process. This is why we encourage you to visit our campus, attend Open House, view our students’ work, and get familiar with our program offerings, courses and faculty background.
Our Admissions Counselors and Alumni Ambassadors are available to answer your questions, guide you through the admissions process, and provide support and insight that will be invaluable as you make your transition to becoming a Paris College of Art student.
All of PCA’s programs are taught in English, and we encourage our students to study French while with us, so that they can take full advantage of their time in Paris.
Applicants must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency to be successful. As part of the Admissions process, you may be required to submit TOEFL, IELTS or B2 First test scores.

Meet the Admissions Team
As the head of the Admissions team, I am the one with the longest history with Paris College of Art — I received my BFA here in the 80s and then joined the school as Director of Admissions in 1998! An American, I grew up in New Jersey and lived in NYC for many years between doing my BFA and returning to France.
Hela Al Sharkas
Originally born in Damascus, Syria, and having lived in different cities around the world like Riyadh, Kuala Lumpur, and Paris, I love being surrounded by international environments and different cultures. As well as being the admissions counselor for special programs at PCA, I am also a multidisciplinary artist and a PCA alumna with an MFA in Transdisciplinary New Media. Outside work, I enjoy exploring the large variety of French wine and cheese.
I hold a degree in Art History and love to spend entire days in museums. If you don’t see me there, you will probably find me with a book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. Working as an admissions counselor means I can mix both my passion for arts and pedagogy.
I am looking forward to discovering the creative and intricate universes each student brings with them.
As a former PCA student, I called Paris home for five years where I mastered just enough French to swap stories with my landlady. On days off, I was up before sunrise to photograph the city’s morning light or catch suspiciously cheap flights around Europe. Now I’m back in the US, working as a freelance photographer and graphic designer, and as the North America Alumni Ambassador.
Born and raised in Mauritius, I am the epitome of an island girl. I moved to Paris in 2016 for my studies and have since called the city of Love my home. I have recently obtained my Master’s degree in Intercultural communications which has helped me to develop a real interest in working in multicultural environments. As a communications officer, I aim to further develop PCA’s visibility on a global scale and look forward to work with such an international team and students !
In my free time, you will find me strolling around museums, having brunch or listening to Taylor Swift.
