Aldo Buscalferri

Aldo Buscalferri is a creative director, photographer and publisher.
He started his career in Milan working mainly as an art director and photographer for the music and entertainment industry, shaping the image of several emerging ‘alternative rock’ bands, working for clients such as MTV, Virgin, Universal and Warner Group. He then shifted into the publishing field working for several magazines including Urban, RollingStone, GQ and GQStyle.
In 2012 he moved to Paris to work as creative director of fashion, art and lifestyle magazines such as L’Officiel Hommes, L’Officiel Voyage and L’Officiel Art.
In 2018 he co-founded with Dominika Hadelova the contemporary cultural magazine MATTO, a publication that explores the interconnections between art, design, fashion, photography and literature.
The same year he founded MATTO Studio, in duo with Dominika, providing creative services, mainly photography and video for fashion brands.Their clients include Givenchy, Dries van Noten, ALAÏA, Ashi Studio, Comme des Garçons Parfums and many others.
Through fashion photography, he constantly encourages his students to explore new visual languages and develop strong personal projects. He studied professional photography in Milan at CFP Bauer and graphic design at studio A.G. Fronzoni as well as a few years at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
