Marie-Ève Lecavalier

Marie-Ève Lecavalier (born in Montreal, 1988) graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fashion management and design from UQAM (Montreal, 2014). During this period, she was a research assistant for designer and professor Ying Gao. Eager to refine her style, in 2015 she joined the prestigious HEAD (Haute École d’Art et de Design) in Geneva to pursue a master’s degree. Her graduation collection, titled Come Get Trippy With Us, was selected for the 33rd edition of the Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival international competition in France. Her unique style and innovative approach earned her the 2018 Chloé Prize, as well as a Special Mention from the jury, chaired by Belgian fashion designer Haider Ackermann. Lecavalier is the first Canadian to win this award.
In 2018, she interned with Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons in Antwerp for the development of his Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The same year, she founded her own line called LECAVALIER. In 2019, she was preselected for the LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) prize for young fashion designers, in addition to receiving the CAFA (CanadianArt & Fashion Award) / Swarovski prize for emerging talents. In 2021, she is the first Canadian to be a finalist for the International Woolmark Prize and the first Canadian woman to be part of the official Paris Fashion Week calendar (withthe Fédération de la Mode et de la Haute Couture de Paris). Since then, she has collaborated on the exclusive launch of her brand in partnership with the internationally renowned boutique SSENSE, as well as with Maison Simons.
Lecavalier has now been based in Paris since January 2024.
