Laureano Mon

Lecturer

Trends analyst and educator. Mon is an expert on consumer trends analysis and the development of innovation strategies in the fashion industry. He works as a project manager and researcher in the ‘Trends Observatory’ in the National Institute of Industrial Technology (NIIT) in Argentina.

Education
Laureano graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires and holds a Master’s Degree in Cultural Management Policy and Communication (FLACSO, Arg.) as well as a Master’s Degree in Political Economy (FLACSO, Arg., and Sciences Po, Paris).

Teaching
He teaches ‘Social Trends and Cultural Studies’ at Escola de Design Unisinos in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and has been running the workshop ‘Anticipate the Future, From Social Analysis to Market Innovation’ as well as the seminar ¨Social Trends Methodology and Innovative Strategies¨ to universities in South America: National University of Tucuman (NUT); National University of Misiones (NUoM); National University of the Northwest Province of Buenos Aires (NUNPBA); National University of Litoral (NUL); National University of Córdoba (NUC); University of Palermo (UP). Mon is currently a lecturer with ¨The Sprout Workshop¨.

Publications (selected)
He is the co-author of the book ‘INTI Design Map, 101 Signature Fashion Designers’ (INTI, 2013). He is the compiler, and co-author, of the book ¨The Possible Design, Paradigms, Markets and Identity of Argentinean Design¨ (IDI UNNOBA, 2016). Laureano is also the author of many articles about design and innovation in academic publications: University of Palermo, University of Bologna, and Parsons the New School for Design, among others.
