Re – pair: a Collaborative Artwork Project for the Printemps du Dessin 2021

Submit your “discarded” sketches to contribute to Re – pair, a collaborative artwork project initiated by Master of Fine Arts in Drawing students for the Printemps du Dessin 2021.

Torn, ripped, damaged, discarded and disliked…
Drawings, sketches, daily notations, or writings on any flat support that you wish you could recycle and share to transform into something else, but that you no longer have the control of.

These will become the resource for the following drawing project:

We, a group of students from the Master of Fine Arts in Drawing and in collaboration with Chair of Fine Arts Véronique Devoldère, will create a visual response with all these gifts for the Printemps du Dessin, organized by Drawing Now Art Fair, a leading contemporary art fair in Europe dedicated to drawing.

For this project, we repair, we re-glue, we rework, we copy, we re-stitch, we staple, we fold, we answer, we write, to create a giant wall drawing that will follow a new form of narrative. As part of a workshop, all the submitted “rejects” will be re-organized following drawing protocols, shared and discussed as a group to create the final collaborative drawing.

Donators of “rejects” can send their contributions by mail or drop them directly in the dedicated box in the gallery at PCA.
