Drawing for Portfolio: Skills Development
Fundamentals of drawing and "learning how to see" in the capital of art
What you’ll learn: How to use various materials such as pencil, ink, and watercolor; master such foundational elements of drawing as composition, line, form, light/shadow, etc. as applied to still life, the model, and nature; visual vocabulary; observational skills; personal portfolio development and discovery of the student’s own line
Where you’ll visit: Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Musée d’Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens, Palais de Tokyo
Course highlight: Each class will include active studio sessions involving students exploring drawing foundational principles in-studio and on external field trips. The course will allow participants to share ideas and receive feedback toward developing a final drawing portfolio.
Prerequisites: Enthusiasm and desire to grow as an artist
Level: Pre-college
When: Session 2 (July 1 – July 12, 2024), Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm
