Interior Design through the Senses

The class has reached maximum enrollment. Please reach out to our summer team if you wish to be placed on our waitlist.
What you’ll learn
You will develop a heightened sensitivity to space by understanding how sight, sound, touch, smell, and embodied awareness shape emotional and physical experience. You’ll learn to slow down and observe deeply, analyze architectural environments with precision, and integrate sensory and mindful dimensions into the design process. Throughout the course, you’ll strengthen your understanding of Parisian history and architecture while exploring how interior design can engage the full spectrum of human perception.
Places You May Explore
Paris becomes your open-air sensory laboratory, from fragrant perfume ateliers and riverside pathways to serene gardens, contemporary museums, historic monuments, atmospheric markets, and Le Corbusier’s iconic modernist interiors. Each site offers textures, sounds, shadows, scents, and spatial qualities that enrich your creative and sensory awareness.
Supplies
While PCA provides the essential tools for the class to run, students provide their own supplies. A list of required materials will be shared on the summer student portal before the start of the program. Expenses for supplies are estimated at between €30 to €150.
