Saga Fur Competition

The BFA Fashion Design department at Paris College of Art is thrilled to announce an exciting internal competition for PCA students, held in partnership with Saga Furs. This collaboration offers a unique opportunity for students to merge innovative design with sustainable practices in fur craftsmanship.
The initiative officially began on December 10, 2024, with a kick-off session in the PCA fashion studio. During this event, participants received the project brief and attended an enlightening fur workshop hosted by Saga Furs, gaining hands-on insights into the material and its creative possibilities.
Over the next two months, students will channel their creativity and expertise into designing and crafting unique fur projects. The stakes are high: the winning designer will earn a fully sponsored, one-week intensive workshop at the Saga Furs Creative Hub in Helsinki, Finland, from March 16 to 24, 2025.
Saga Furs, headquartered in Vantaa near Helsinki, is a global leader in fur innovation and sustainability. The Creative Hub serves as a visionary space where participants engage directly with materials, explore new techniques, and push the boundaries of design. The organization collaborates with renowned fashion houses, auction patrons, and educational institutions like Paris College of Art to foster the next generation of fur artisans.
Sustainability is central to Saga Furs’ ethos. By prioritizing certified pelts with traceable origins and innovating to reduce material waste, Saga Furs champions environmentally responsible practices. Their commitment extends to empowering students and stakeholders to approach fur design with both creativity and ecological mindfulness.
We wish all participating students the best of luck and eagerly anticipate seeing their innovative designs come to life. Stay tuned for updates on this inspiring journey!
