Call for Entries: Urban Vibrations 2017

As part of the Urban Vibrations 2017, from October 31 to November 5, the City of Pessac launches with its partners the 6th edition of its national competition for urban contemporary art on the theme “20 ans, t’as vu!” (20 years, did you see!)

As every year, Urban Vibrations imposes a theme on all competitors: “20 years!” An age, a duration, a symbol… Through this theme, artists can look in the mirror to evoke their own story, that of street art, urban cultures or any other subject. 20 years can also be conjugated to the present because it is the age of all that is possible, or to the future: how will the world be or who will we be in 20 years? All ideas from the most serious to the most extravagant will be studied.

The competition is open to artists, both amateur and semi-professional, aged between 18 and 35 and living in metropolitan France. To enter, download the application form here, fill it out, and return it before June 20. A first jury will select 15 artists who will exhibit during the festival.

As for the public, whether connoisseur or simply interested, it has its own role to play through a Facebook vote, counting for 50% in the designation of the 3 winners.

Prizes

1st prize: Fine art materials amounting to 1000€ and 500€ in cash.
The winner is also offered to be programmed solo in the festival’s partner galleries.

2nd prize: 500€ worth of fine art materials
3rd prize: 250€ worth of fine art materials
The public’s favorite: 250€ for the artist receiving the most votes from the public!
