The Japan Media Arts Festival honors outstanding works from a diverse range of media. Since its creation in 1997, the festival has rewarded significant works of high artistry and creativity. In addition to a yearly exhibition, the festival has held other events such as: symposiums, screenings, and showcases.

All artists around the world, without distinction as to professional, amateur, independent, or commercial, are invited to submit their works for the 2017 Edition of Japan Media Arts Festival!

Award-winning works will be exhibited both within Japan and abroad through various projects and events organized by The Agency of Cultural Affairs, a branch of Japanese government.
