Work History
Benjamin Hochart embraces the influence of comics, science fiction, folk art, outsider art and fibre art, which accompany a practice based on the non-hierarchy of genres and idioms. Experimenting with multiple materials and processes, his research focuses on issues of improvisation, fiction, assemblage and poetics. His work uses various media (drawing, sculpture, installation, video, performance, publishing), implying multiple readings that attempt to disrupt the established order of things and explore the political potential of fringe culture, both popular and underground.
