Ian Paterson will teach Drawing in Paris in the PCA Summer Program.

Ian Paterson is a Foundation professor who has held exhibitions at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Musée Carnavalet and the Galerie Françoise Paviot in Paris. Paterson, who received his BA from Trinity University of Toronto in Canada, has also held solo exhibitions in Montreal and Sarajevo. Ian splits his time between teaching and making art. He is currently focused on painting things that investigate the visible and invisible in nature.

His class Drawing in Paris focuses on drawing as the foundation of visual art. He will teach students the various ways to experience and explore the visual world through drawing. The class will experiment with different drawing materials and techniques, learning skills and open up the way toward personal vision and expression.

Students who enroll in Drawing in Paris also spend 1.5 hours a day in French class from 9:00 to 10:30. Students’ French ability will be determined when they arrive and they will be placed in the appropriate course for their level.
