Join Riel Miller for an interactive session of facilitated discussion and games about Futures Studies, organized by Speculative Futures Paris, parisian chapter of the Design Future Initiative, and hosted by Paris College of Art.

For forty years Riel has been co-creating innovation, leadership and transformation in both the public and private sectors around the world. He is one of the world’s leading strategic foresight designers and practitioners. Currently Riel is working with universities, governments, companies, and thinktanks from around the world to introduce an anticipatory systems and processes approach to understanding the attributes and role of the future.

Future study is a broad interdisciplinary field that explores possible futures and the ways in which they might emerge. As with any field of study, it has its own terminology and concepts, which are important to understand in order to engage in critical thinking about future studies. In particular, there are several key terms and practices that are worth examining, including future literacy, foresight, design fiction, imaginaries, and different practices.
