Alicia González Ramírez ’22, is earning her Masters of Fine Art in Drawing and joins PCA by way of Spain. We asked González Ramírez what she felt was the most valuable thing she’s learned here at PCA. She told us that she is “still impressed by the opportunity I have had here to exchange my artistic concerns with other artists in such a close and direct way. It has been a privilege for me to be surrounded by artists with such different perspectives, both my classmates and teachers.” We wish we could keep impressing her but, we know we have to let her move on and impress the world with all that she has learned. Here are the facts!

Where do you call home?
I would call home the city where I come from, in Spain, since I’ve lived there for the most part of my life. That’s where my family and friends are, and I also feel a strong connection with the landscapes too.

What inspired you to study at PCA?
I was looking for a Drawing program to continue my studies in the arts, and the MFA in Drawing turned out to be the most focused on the subject, with a very broad perspective at the same time. I was inspired by these two aspects being put together in one program.

What do you feel is the most valuable thing you’ve learned or what has moved you the most about your program at PCA?
I am still impressed by the opportunity I have had here to exchange my artistic concerns with other artists in such a close and direct way. It has been a privilege for me to be surrounded by artists with such different perspectives, both by classmates and teachers.

What is the most interesting or exciting element to you in regard to living & studying in Paris?
The enormous amount of art there is. New events and art exhibitions never stop coming out!
