Camille Boulay ’23, MFA Drawing calls her “little flat in Paris and many other places where I have friends and family” home. Boulay found her way to PCA after a six-month art residency with Véronique Devoldère and Didier Clain who encouraged me to apply to PCA.” Boulay went on to explain why PCA is the right place for her. “I am thrilled with the artists that we have had as professors at PCA. To have them share their knowledge and help us develop as their peers in the small class sizes offered at PCA is an incredible opportunity.” See what else Boulay revealed below!

Where do you call home?

My little flat in Paris and many other places where I have friends and family.

What inspired you to study at PCA?

I participated in a six-month art residency with Véronique Devoldère and Didier Clain who both work at PCA and they encouraged me to apply to PCA as I had been meaning to return to school to obtain a Masters in Fine Arts after working in film for the past ten years. I was enthusiastic about the Drawing program and as well as the fact that I would not be the only older student in the program.

What do you feel is the most valuable thing you’ve learned or what has moved you the most about your program at PCA?

I am thrilled with the artists that we have had as professors at PCA. They are all working professionals with exciting projects happening internationally. To have them share their knowledge and help us develop as their peers in the small class sizes offered at PCA is an incredible opportunity.

What is the most interesting or exciting element to you in regard to living & studying in Paris?

I have been living in Paris since 2004 but continue to be amazed at the amount of art and culture accessible to anyone living in Paris. In doing this MFA in Drawing I have been able to review my experience of Paris’s museums and art galleries, seeing art work through new eyes, with freshly acquired knowledge…it’s very exciting.
