PCA Students Work on Design Strategies for Hotel IBIS

Hotel Ibis

Interior Design Project 1 students in Deirdre Phillips class are working on proposing new design strategies to improve the existing lobby area of our local Ibis Hotel.

They recently visited the site, and developed several ideas: introducing new programmatic functions within the lobby in an attempt to make it more accessible to the public, creating more visibility by opening the existing façade and reviewing the lobby interior design.

During the second part of their fall semester, students will continue working on redesigning a hotel room. The aim is to create a “compact living space” whilst breaking away from the typical hotel room concept.
