Photography Lunch Talks #29 Lucas Pandolfo

Lucas Pandolfo is a Brazilian filmmaker, image-artist and writer working and living in Paris, France. His work mainly deals with the poetics of everyday life and how technology and latestage capitalism affect contemporary living; he mainly works with installations, instant photography and smartphone images.

His approach to photography and video is performative; his work tends to look past his collection of images in order to see the act that lies behind them. And he believes that creating echoes of daily life subjects, such as “breakfast,” “sleep” and “waiting,” can help us see how absurd contemporary life is. Lucas’ work captures the negative space and in-between moments of living. His films have been shown at multiple film festivals across Brazil and Europe and he has exhibited his work at [a sala] in Porto Alegre, Brazil and at Centre Anim’ in Paris, France.

You can see more of his work on his website.
