PCA Celebrates 10 Years of the Transdisciplinary New Media Program

Transdisciplinary New Media: A Decade of Innovation, Disruption, and Vision
In September 2015, Paris College of Art launched our first master’s program in Transdisciplinary New Media. The aim of this program was to bring together artists, designers, programmers, engineers, musicians, and other creatives to collaborate in a group setting, leveraging their diverse backgrounds while refining technical skills in new media and technology. Since then, the Transdisciplinary New Media program has been at the forefront of innovation, blending art, design, and technology into a collaborative and experimental space. Over the past decade, this program has cultivated a generation of artists and creators who challenge traditional boundaries, embracing new digital tools, interactive media, and immersive technologies.
In September 2025, we celebrate ten years of pushing the boundaries of what new media creation can be—ten years of challenging convention, of transforming artistic and technological landscapes. More than an anniversary, this moment marks a collective movement—a celebration of minds that reimagine reality, redefine interaction, and shape the future of creativity. Since its founding, the Transdisciplinary New Media department has been a space where technology merges with artistry—where sound, motion, immersion, and interaction serve as dynamic forms of expression. Not just tools, but ideas, possibilities, and new ways of seeing, feeling, and engaging with the world.
To honor this legacy, we are hosting a special exhibition: 10 YEARS OF CREATIVE FLOW. This showcase is not just a retrospective—it is a tribute to innovation, experimentation, and the daring visions that have shaped the department’s identity. This exhibition perfectly reflects the program’s ethos, celebrating its commitment to pushing beyond disciplines, fostering hybrid practices, and redefining artistic expression. Featuring works from past students, this exhibition highlights how New Media Art has evolved, reflecting the ever-changing technological and creative landscapes.
We also take this opportunity to recognize everyone who has contributed to building this community over the past ten years. Their bold thinking, relentless curiosity, and creativity have set the foundation for a future that continues to push beyond limits. We take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to the students, alumni, instructors, and chairs who have helped shape this extraordinary journey.
To the students, past and present: You are the heartbeat of this program. Your creativity, passion, and fearless experimentation have transformed ideas into groundbreaking works, redefining the boundaries of art and technology, and contributing to the broader impact of New Media Art.
To the alumni, who continue to inspire beyond our walls—you carry the spirit of this department into the world, proving that innovation knows no limits. Your contributions across industries, galleries, studios, and digital platforms are a testament to the power of transdisciplinary thinking.
To the instructors, who have guided, challenged, and supported every bold vision, you have built a space that nurtures ideas, encourages disruption, and fosters collaboration. Your dedication has empowered generations of artists, designers, and technologists to think beyond convention.
And to the chairs, who have led with vision and determination—your leadership has been instrumental in shaping this program into the creative hub it is today. Your commitment to pushing boundaries has made this department a home for exploration, innovation, and artistic expression.
This anniversary is not just a celebration of time—it is a tribute to the people who have made the past ten years extraordinary. Thank you to all for your creativity, your courage, and your belief in the limitless possibilities of New Media. Here’s to the next decade of imagining, creating, and breaking barriers together!
As we look ahead, we don’t simply continue—we reinvent. We disrupt. We inspire. The next decade of Transdisciplinary New Media promises new visions, unexpected collaborations, and the infinite potential of an art form that refuses to be confined.
