This is a hands-on, step-by-step, technical lab class, where editing video will take you beyond the basics to a professional workflow for digital video editing. After Effects will be the main software for moving images, and all essential tools, plug-ins and filters, their options and use, the character of each menu or tool option critical for video editing will be covered at a practical level. You will learn to master advanced image and sound editing.

This course will focus on the many steps required to produce a professional looking film from initial pitch all the way to a finished film. We will cover the various steps involved both theoretically and practically. Students will learn how to script, storyboard, shoot, edit and deliver a professional looking film. Within each of these general categories, students will learn how to choose and operate equipment such DSLR cameras, direct, edit using Adobe Premiere Pro, create titles and credits using After Effects, record and edit sound and how to export/compress a finished film for different outlets (Vimeo, YouTube, cinema etc.)
