Drawing for Portfolio: Concept Development

What you’ll learn
You’ll learn to expand your curiosity through drawing, refining both observational and experimental approaches while responding intuitively to your environment. Throughout the course, you will develop a concept and transform it into a complete project within two weeks, strengthening your visual vocabulary and sharpening your ability to make intentional artistic choices. You’ll also learn to articulate and defend your creative decisions during critiques, gradually shaping your own artistic voice and personal way of seeing.
Places You May Explore
You may explore train stations, parks, cultural spaces, and museums across Paris, engaging with locations such as Père Lachaise, the Catacombs, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Palais de Tokyo, La Réserve des Arts, Jardin des Plantes, and other inspiring urban environments depending on the weather and the focus of each session.
Supplies
While PCA provides the essential tools for the class to run, students provide their own supplies. A list of required materials will be shared on the summer student portal before the start of the program. Expenses for supplies are estimated at between €30 to €150.
