Barbara Montefalcone, Chair of Liberal Studies at PCA, contributes to new publication on Beat and Black Mountain poetry: “The Beats, Black Mountain, and New Modes in American Poetry” edited by Matt Theado (Clemson University Press, 2021). In her chapter titled “It’s always an adventure: Visual and Verbal Collaborations in the Beat and Black Mountain Circles”, Barbara examines the practice of literary and artistic collaboration by such writers as Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Charles Olson, Robert Duncan, and Robert Creeley.
