“Drawing as an idea”

Boryana Petkova (1985) lives and works in Paris. She is multifaceted artist with a particular interest in drawing, especially in the intersections between classical and experimental drawing. Her research explores the links between drawing and others distant disciplines (photography, video, drawing performance, 3D printing, ceramics, sculpture and sound.) Boryana is also interested in collaborative practices, most of her projects are created in collaboration with artists, photographers, musicians, and designers.

Laureat of Pierre David Weills prize of drawing of the French Académie of Fine Arts, she is current a resident at the Research Laboratory at ENSBA Limoges (Ceramics as experience). Her work is been exhibited at FRAC Picadrie in Amiens (2016), Institut de France (2015), Centre of contemporary art Juneval (Belgium, 2015), and currently in Salon du dessin organized by 6B résidence.
