Paris Photo with our Photography Students

Paris College of Art is excited to announce an enriching experience for our Photography Bachelor’s and Master’s students: exclusive guided visits to Paris Photo, the world’s largest international photography art fair. Held at the iconic Grand Palais from November 7th to 10th, 2024, this year’s 27th edition of Paris Photo promises a vibrant showcase of global talent, exploring the future of photographic creation.
A Landmark Event in the Photography World
Paris Photo is celebrated not only for its sheer scale but also for its profound dedication to promoting photographic art. Each year, this prestigious event gathers artists, gallery owners, publishers, and photography enthusiasts from across the globe, uniting them under one roof to celebrate the evolution and endless possibilities of the photographic medium. This year, over 200 exhibitors from around the world will display a dynamic range of work—from fine art photography to new media and experimental projects—all aimed at fostering greater understanding, appreciation, and development within the field.
Unique Learning Opportunity for PCA Students
For our Photography students at Paris College of Art, this is more than just an outing; it’s an opportunity to be fully immersed in the global photography ecosystem. Under the guidance of PCA’s experienced faculty, students will have curated visits to meet gallery owners, publishers, and artists firsthand. This kind of exposure offers students a chance to understand the various facets of the photography world, including the nuances of gallery representation, publishing, and the evolving demands of a rapidly shifting industry.
Strengthening PCA’s Photography Program
The Photography Department at Paris College of Art is dedicated to creating these experiential learning opportunities that reinforce classroom teachings and theoretical knowledge. Led by passionate faculty like Steve Bisson, who brings his own connections and expertise to the table, the department continuously seeks to empower students to shape and contribute to the photographic field. Programs like this enhance PCA’s commitment to fostering a supportive, enriching environment where creativity can flourish.
As we prepare to attend Paris Photo, our students are ready to learn, connect, and be inspired. We believe that experiences like this help prepare them for a successful future in photography, one enriched by a global perspective and deep understanding of their craft.
