Eric Vernhes present Meeting Philip at the Némo Biennale

Paris College of Art faculty member Eric Vernhes will present two major works this fall in internationally renowned digital art festivals: Meeting Philip at the Némo Biennale in Paris, and Ligne de fuite at CYFEST 16 in Mexico City.

Meeting Philip – Némo Biennale, Paris
Meeting Philip is a musical, video, and visual work based on Philip K. Dick’s 1977 lecture in Metz. In this talk, the visionary author explored one of his most recurring themes: the existence of parallel universes and the notion of our world as a computer program subject to unpredictable reprogramming.
Rather than questioning the credibility of Dick’s account, Vernhes shifts the focus to the duality of the writer and the self-proclaimed prophet, choosing to amplify the brilliance of the author over the eccentricities of the visionary.
Produced with the support of Vidéoforme and the SCAN Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne fund, with excerpts courtesy of (c)CNRS, Meeting Philip will be presented at the Némo Biennial, International Digital Arts Biennial of the Île-de-France region, produced by CENTQUATRE-PARIS, October 11, 2025 – January 11, 2026.

Ligne de fuite – CYFEST 16, Mexico City
Vernhes will also present Ligne de fuite at the 16th edition of CYFEST, the international digital art festival hosted this year in Mexico City.
Entitled “Archive of Feelings. A Journey”, CYFEST 16 examines the complex relationship between emotions, memories, and technological progress. Through installations, multimedia objects, performances, videos, and concerts, the festival asks: how do new technologies shape, mediate, and archive emotions?
Taking inspiration from Paul Bowles’ reflections in The Sheltering Sky, Ligne de fuite explores the fleeting yet profound experiences that mark our lives, reframed within the context of contemporary digital art.
Hosted at the Centro de Cultura Digital in Mexico City, CYFEST 16 runs from September 4–22, 2025.
