From Conference to Creation: A Liberal Studies Initiative at Musée de Tessé
"EXISTER, RÉSISTER” — When PCA Students Transform Research into Artistic Expression
Last November, the Musées du Mans hosted the international conference “Art and Well-Being: Bodies in Motion, Minds Awake,” organized by Le Mans Université within the framework of the COLOURS University Alliance and co-organized by Paris College of Art. Bringing together students, researchers, and artists, the event presented art as a genuine process of individual and collective transformation, at the intersection of scientific research, creative exploration, and artistic practice.
Following the conference, students from the partner institutions were invited to take part in a creative competition. The three laureates — Janeth Medina, Gayatri Juvekar, and Terence Berchman — each developed a body of work establishing a rich dialogue between academic research and artistic expression. Through a wide range of formats and media, their creations are presented across three spaces of the Musée de Tessé: the Egyptian gallery, the Neoclassical room, and the gallery dedicated to the 18th century.
The exhibition “EXISTER, RÉSISTER” will open at the Musée de Tessé in Le Mans on Tuesday, February 17 at 6 pm, marking the vernissage of this remarkable presentation of PCA student work.
The exhibition will remain on view at the Musée de Tessé from February 17 through March 22, inviting visitors to discover the award-winning projects developed at the intersection of art, research, and well-being.
