Paris-Pas-Cher: Fab Lab

Sometimes, you have an idea for a piece but you don’t know where to start or how to make it actually happen.

Today, Paris-Pas-Cher is giving you affordable addresses to several fab labs across Paris where you can use high tech machines and even receive training.

Want to make a giant lizard person out of wood and vinyl to finally give a face to the voices in your head? Check out the places below! We’ve included a short description of our favorite fab labs in Paris.

DRAFT ATELIERS

Monday-Friday: 10am-7pm

3D printers, CNC milling machines, laser cutting machines, wood workshop, textile printers, coworking space etc..  20% discount on inductions and 10% discount on hourly rates to students, so don’t forget to bring your PCA ID card.

Fab Lab Carrefour Numérique

59A Boulevard Macdonald
75019, Paris.
Tuesday-Thursday: 3pm-6:30pm
Friday-Saturday: 2pm-6:30pm

Milling machines, 3D printers, 3D scanners, knitting machines, heat presses, and other machinery for free! Just go through their induction sessions, fill out a form and you’re a member! 30€ a year to use the laser cutting machine and vinyl printer – for unlimited use!

WoMa- Fabrique de Quartier

Monday-Friday: 9am-7pm

3D printers, vinyl cutting machines, laser cutting machines, and milling machines. Prices range between 10 – 200€, depending on the machine and level of supervision. No need for a monthly or yearly membership: pay per use!

VOLUMES Coworking

Monday-Friday: 9am-7pm

VOLUMES is both a coworking space, a fab lab, and a food lab. You can use their milling machines, laser cutting machines, and 3D printers if you pay an hourly rate and you can get a number of inductions. You can also become a member and get discounts.

Paris College of Art

Saturday: 9am-7pm

You can obviously take advantage of the facilities on PCA campus. In the 3D lab you can work with wood, ceramics, metal, and there’s a digital photo lab and dark room at PCA as well.

SpoonFlower

SpoonFlower is a fabric shop that does custom prints in Durham, North Carolina but they ship overseas. It’s a really affordable way to print on fabric, and you can even ask for sample prints.
