PCA Fashion Students were recently invited to Première Vision, one of the largest global events in the field. The fair offers unlimited sources of inspiration, including new fabrics, leathers, furs, accessories, etc. This event is an essential part of any fashion designer’s calendar.

Dave Klibanoff, who was one of the students who participated in the visit, shared with us his impressions:

As a Fashion student at PCA, it was extremely beneficial to attend this fair. PCA students have so many opportunities to connect with the fashion industry here in Paris. Having experienced Premiére Vision this year, I must say: overall, this comprehensive highly attended event should be a requisite for everyone interested in the fashion industry.

Xavier Thurston, Fashion Design Class of ’16, was recently featured in Première Vision, among six other students from the top fashion design schools in Europe to incarnate the new creative spirit. PCA students were excited to discover Xavier’s portrait at the fair, which was also featured in numerous magazines: WAD Magazine, L’Officiel, L’Officiel Homme, Uomo Vogue, Streetwear International, Vogue Turkey, Elle Turkey. Of the fair, Xavier thought the leather was really amazing. What was cool is that on the forum there were all the different treatments. You could see how it was made and how you could reproduce it yourself. In the end it was a really good experience.

Josefine Praest thought the furs were very interesting. The use of various colors and treatments really caught my eye.

And Josephina Scimeca felt the technology that they used to create the furs and leathers was very fascinating. They weren’t just your basic pelts or leather skins.
