PCA Talks Presents: Sho Konishi
Sho Konishi is a fashion designer living and working in New York.
“Materiality, Sustainability in Fashion”

Sho Konishi will share his experience in academia, the process of fashion portfolio assembling, the concept of “FASHION”, as well as its relationship to nature and human culture. Konishi will share the struggles he has faced as a designer within the world of fashion from losing passion post-research into sustainability in fashion, to questioning the constant necessity to create garments following trends. After these hard moments, he spent two years at Parsons, New York in an attempt to find his own path to continue his career as a fashion designer. Konishi’s collection and publication “Garden of Eden” was his response to the industry.

Sho holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Parsons “Fashion Design and Society” (2019 Honors), Master of Arts in Fashion Design from Paris College of Art “Haute Technology and Haute Couture” (2017 Honors), and a Bachelor of Arts from Tokyo Mode Gakuen College of Fashion and Design (2015 Honors).
Sho Konishi received the following Prizes and Awards; CFDA FASHION FUTURE GRADUATE SHOWCASE in NY (2019), Frank furt Style Award 1st Prize in Germany (2017) Tokyo Mode Gakuen Creator Of The Year(2015), LINEAPELLE2015 Second Prize in Italy(2015), Tokyo Mode Gakuen Graduation Project Fashion Show Group Gold Prize and Yoichi Nagasawa Certification in Japan (2015).
He has also received Nippori Fashion Design Contest Second Prize(2014), Shinjuku Fashion Field Judge`s Prize(2014),
Kanazawa Fashion Competition Lady`s Wear Gold Prize(2014), Fashion Design Contest Kurashiki Fashion Floor First Prize(2014), TOKYO NEW DESIGNER FASHION GRAND PRIX Best Prize Recipient(2014). In addition, he has received Shinjuku Fashion Field Judge`s Selection Prize(2014), Fashion Design Contest Kurashiki Fashion Floor First Prize(2014), Nation Wide Design Contest in Sabae Gold Prize(2013).
Recently Sho was also nominated for So-en competition, YKK FASTENING AWARD, HEP FIVE Original Fashion Contest and Hamamatsu City Fashion Competition(2013-2015).
