Wellness at PCA: Free Yoga on Campus

lucy yoga fall 2019

Since Spring 2019, the PCA community have been enjoying free yoga on campus with Lucy Davies once a month!

Lucy teaches Hatha Yoga; a traditional form of yoga which involves movement, asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises). The classes are taught in English and focus on letting go of stress and tension, developing awareness of the body and finding support through yoga practice; they are open to all levels including complete beginner.

Lucy holds a 200hr Yoga Teacher certificate which she completed in Kerala, India in March of 2018. Lucy teaches private, group & corporate classes in Paris and runs retreats in southwest France. She also volunteers as an assistant yoga teacher for SEVAM yoga association and continues to train on retreats in France & the UK.

yoga on campus

“I grew up in England on the Kent Coast and was introduced to yoga by my mother who trained with the British Wheel of Yoga when I was in my early twenties.

It wasn’t until around 5 years ago while living in Paris that I started regularly practising Hatha Yoga. A trip to Kerala in 2016 was my inspiration to return to India for a month of teacher training in 2018.

Yoga is my way of letting go of discomfort in my mind and body, and moving towards awareness, comfort and contentment. Teaching has enabled me to share with others the many positive experiences that my practise has brought me.

I particularly love teaching those who are completely new to yoga, helping them to develop their confidence and curiosity.”
